Why Are Ibis Hilarious And Yet Awful Birds?

Directions to the Woods

The Woods at Ravensbourne is located at 3143 Esk-Hampton Road, Ravensbourne. It's about a 40 minute drive north from the Toowoomba CBD.

Parking

You can park on the grass close to the venue, a short walk away. It's pretty much wherever you can find a spot that doesn't block the circular driveway outside the venue.

Ceremony and Reception Venues

The ceremony and reception venue are located on the same site at The Woods, about 50 metres walk from each other. The ceremony will be outdoors on a grassed area (women, no stilettos! Also, men, no stilettos. Because that would be weird), and the reception will be in a marquee.

Weather and Dress Code

Spring will have sprung by October, but Ravensbourne is still quite high up and so can get chilly in the evenings, so bring something to help you keep warm from 5pm onwards if you are one of our reception guests. Wear footwear that can manage grassed surfaces and dancing.

The dress code is either 'Formal' or 'Cocktail' on a scale that we discovered on the internet that goes:
White tie
Black tie
Formal
Cocktail
Semi-Formal
Festive
Casual
Tropical or Destination
Themed
Come As You Are

Here's a link to the page we found that might help. We didn't know these either:

Restrooms

There are toilets inside the reception venue.

Are Children Welcome to Attend?

Children are welcome to attend our wedding ceremony, but unfortunately (other than the older Lawson children and breastfeeding infants), we are unable to have them join us at the reception. We've allowed 2 to 2.5 hours intermission time between ceremony and reception, to allow parents to settle children with babysitters (including travel time to and from Toowoomba if needed) and return to the reception venue in time for the reception to begin.

Accomodation Options On-Site

For those coming to join us from outside of Toowoomba, you will likely find accomodation within the Toowoomba city limits, however there is the option to stay at Ravensbourne Escape, a collection of self-contained units about 250 metres away from the wedding and reception venue. Each of the remaining units not being used by the wedding party will be be held for wedding guests to book and pay to stay, up until 4 weeks before the wedding. Please note there is a minimum two night stay for bookings at Ravensbourne Escape.

The website for Ravensbourne Escape is https://ravensbourneescape.com.au/

Rob, the site manager for Ravensbourne Escape, can assist with accomodation bookings on 0427 989 570 or at info@ravensbourneescape.com.au

If you are staying on site, you may be interested in visiting the local distillery, Pechey Distilling Co open from 11am to 5pm, the website for which is https://www.pecheydistilling.com.au/ or the My Little Blueberry patisserie in Crow's Nest. The nearby Ravensbourne National Park also has some beautiful walks and lookouts that are easily accessible: https://parks.desi.qld.gov.au/parks/ravensbourne

Breastfeeding and Baby Changing

We know that several of our guests will have infants that require feeding and changing whilst attending the wedding, and so a special area of the reception venue nearby will be screened off and equipped for feeding and changing of little ones.

Intermission Activities

There will be a 2 to 2.5 hour intermission between our ceremony and reception, to allow parents to settle children with babysitters etc including travel to and from Toowoomba. During this time, a short course of drinks and canapés will be served, and there will be a selection of games for guests to play to occupy the time until the reception seats at 6 for a 6:30pm start.

Gift Registry

While we love a good toaster or foot spa, we don't really need much in the way of domestic things, and we would rather you be there for our day and not be concerned about wedding gifts. If you particularly want to bless us with a gift, then there are a few items that we'd really like to get that we've added to our gift registry which you can find at www.myregistry.com/giftlist/benandsarahgetmarried The password to access the registry is ivebinchickenyouout

If you'd just like to make a cash gift to bless us, you can use the following account details. Please be sure to put your name on your gift reference (and if you'd like your gift to go towards one of the larger items on our registry), so that we can thank you in person!
